Once you log into the the photogallery you will see your main album page which says “This album is empty” quite logical as you have not yet created any subalbums nor uploaded any photos in to them.
Now to create an album in your main album page follow these steps:
Step01: Click the “Add Album” command on the RHS side bar and you will see “Add sub album” page appearing on the working area .
Step02: enter all the details of album like name ,title, summary etc., if you don’t know what enter or choose, leave it to the defaults.
Step03: click the “Create” button at the bottom of the page.
An allbum is created and you are taken to the “Edit Album” page having a set of tabs. Here you can make all the setting for the album you just created.
Step04: Have a look at all the tabs on this page and do the setting,if in doubt for a setting just leave it as it is for the default setting.
Don’t forget to save the settings in each tab by clicking the save button at the bottom of each tab
Now your album is created successfully
and it is time to upload some images in to this newly created album
How to add photos/items into a album? we will see that in the next article

Well you all know I am a member of BPC (Bangalore Photography Club) one of the best sites for the photographers to hang around and learn something.
One thing it lacked according to me was a photogallery and the admins also knew it and shown the intention of putting a photogallery shortly and asked the members to watch out.
But since quite long time nothing was done in that direction and I, as member wanted to setup a photogallery to BPC, just as a contribution from my end.
Towards that, this prototype photogallery was set up on my blog, to get feed back from the members of BPC for the features , user interface, reliability, security and permissions etc.,etc.,
In fact just two days back I had put up a thread in the BPC forum asking for the interested members to register to this prototype test gallery and even some of them registered and created some albums and uploaded some pics also.
In the mean time ,I came to know from one of the Admins that the management of BPC has a different plans and envisions about the BPC photogallery and that there is no need of such an effort from my end and removed that thread.
But, as I have worked a lot on the development of this photogallery , I decided to go ahead with the project and making this prototype gallery a full fledged ,fully functional photogallery for the benefit of budding and pro photographers, who want to share and showcase their pics to the world and get comments from the fellow members and friends to improve their skills.
In view of this, this photogallery is now called “Ajanta PhotoGallery” and managed, maintained and supported by me and it will never be integrated with BPC.
I have nothing against BPC, in fact I like the club and every member and the management.
I continue to associate and support the BPC as usual.
The mistake is from my end, not taking a solid permission from the management of BPC for such a project and initiative before hand.
But no regrets, learned a lot from the project, and hoping to make many such projects.
That being said, now let me back to the topic of making this web photogallery a full functional and an independent photogallery site.
Towards this, you will find lot of supporting articles ,tips and tutorials about using this photogallery and making use of it effectively.
So watch this category of blogs to get more info from tomorrow onwards……
In the mean time get regisetred to the gallery and play around by creating albums and uploading some pics
To do that just click the link : Ajanta PhotoGallery
Recently I had been to Thirupathi with my family to have Dharshan of Lord Venkateshwra , during that time my wife took my photo when I was just about to get in to the car. It is a real candid shot as I had no clue that she is going to click ,all I knew is that she is fiddling with my DSLR camera and I was angry about it as she has no knowledge about the DSLR. She only knows how to use her P&S.
Anyway I like the shot , because now I know how I look when I am angry at her.
Many people don’t know what differentiates a professional photo from a snapshot ,well both are made by just pressing the shutter release button.
But pro photographers understands and thinks about many aspects of basic photography and it is secondary in nature for them most of the time.
What are they ?
Well here is the list, a true photographer understands and thinks about them before releasing the shutter
-
# Understanding composition and composition techniques.
# Understanding Light and Lighting techniques.
# Understanding Exposure and Exposure techniques.
# Understanding Focus,DOF and HFD.
# Understanding Focal length, Angle of Coverage and choosing the right lens for the job at hand.
# Understanding Camera view points,Camera angles and Perspectives and choosing the right one.
And any workshop on basic photography must deal with these things in detail ,so when you join for a basic course , make sure they include these must know topics.
